About Marco Rubio
Marco Antonio Rubio was born in Miami, Florida to Cuban parents who were naturalized as US citizens. He was given a football scholarship from Tarkio College, which he attended for a year before moving on to Santa Fe Community College, and eventually graduating from the University of Florida (with a Bachelor of Science) and the University of Miami School of Law (J.D. degree). He interned for Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and volunteered for Senator Bob Dole's presidential campaign in 1996, before embarking upon his own political career. He has since amassed an impressive resume, most prominently including his election to the Florida House of Representatives – eventually becoming Speaker of that chamber – and his current occupation, Junior Senator from Florida in the United States Senate. Rubio announced his candidacy for the 2016 presidential election on April 13, 2015 in Miami.
Rubio is an unambiguously conservative candidate, enjoying a 100.00 rating from the American Conservative Union for his Senate votes in 2011 and 2012. He supports a flat federal tax rate, opposes the capital gains tax, and has stated that no taxes should ever be raised during a recession. He believes the age at which a person may begin collecting Social Security benefits should be raised for those more than 10 years away from retirement, due to increased life expectancy. Rubio is also strongly pro-life, opposes same-sex marriage, and has stated that there is no responsible way to use marijuana recreationally.
“I think there’s time to still prevent a Trump nomination, which I think would fracture the party and be damaging to the conservative movement”.
Rubio ended his campaign after New York real estate mogul Donald Trump won the coveted primary.
Marco Rubio is dropping out of the presidential race after losing the Florida primary to Donald Trump and failing to unite the Republican establishment against the billionaire front-runner.
He bet big on a hawkish foreign policy, but voters just aren't buying it.
It's all part of a strategy to keep Donald Trump from winning the nomination.
Marco Rubio won one. No, not one state. One delegate.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) freed his Ohio supporters to vote for Ohio Gov. John Kasich
Sen. Ted Cruz, responding to a question about violence at Donald Trump rallies, said on Friday that a candidate has the responsibility of setting the tone for his or her campaign.
He probably won't win any delegates in Mississippi or Michigan.
The Florida senator still hasn't won a state.
Sure, but it really helps.
Sure, but it really helps.
It’s an unusual admission for a candidate, but one Rubio is making openly as he works to unite the anti-Donald Trump vote behind him.
The stars are aligning for Marco just as Donald Trump seems to be steamrolling to the nomination.
The GOP presidential candidate’s role on a special Florida state legislative panel offers a look at traits that rivals attack today.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley threw her support behind presidential hopeful Marco Rubio Wednesday, ahead of the state’s Republican primary Saturday -– the jewel in the crown of Rubio’s Palmetto State endorsements.
Nikki Haley faced a decision: to play kingmaker with her endorsement, or to remain neutral.
For one thing, George W. Bush ignored a warning that Al Qaeda would attack inside the U.S.
We'll remember this in 2020 or 2024.
Third place is the second loser.
